Community Development
VISA Steel continually strives to maintain and improve its role as a responsible member of society. In line with its philosophy of sustainable development, VISA Steel does not believe in drawing the line by just allocating funds to various causes. On the contrary it works in an ongoing partnership with communities through its operating companies and the VISA Trust. Over the years VISA Steel has worked on community development in areas of national importance comprising education, healthcare, sport and culture.
Education
- Played a leading role in establishing two premier education institutions in Kolkata, namely The Heritage School and The Heritage Institute of Technology through the Kalyan Bharti Trust.
- Provides scholarship opportunities to the brilliant and needy students.
Healthcare
- Conducts medical check-up camps, construction of blood bank and provided various medical facilities in the backward areas of Orissa and West Bengal.
Rural development
- Taken variour initiatives for providing clean drinking water, water harvesting renovation of heritage monuments and plantation drive to improve greenery in the backward areas.
Sports and culture
- Active promoter of contemporary Indian art through exhibitions, organises painting competitions to promote talented young artists and Sponsors and organizes an annual ladies golf tournament at the Tollygunge Club in Kolkata.
